Dr Cameron-Taylor completed her medicaldegree at the University of Newcastle andcompleted rural General Practice training.She subsequently undertook advancedtraining in Palliative Medicine through theRoyal Australasian College of Physicians.
For the last seven years she has worked as a staff specialistin the Department of Palliative Care at Calvary MaterNewcastle and has a conjoint appointment at the Universityof Newcastle. Her interests include optimising a patientcentredtransition from active to palliative treatment andshe has been involved in several clinical trials. Her workin medical education has been presented at local andinternational meetings and she is currently team leader forthe provision of online spaced education in End-of-Life-Careacross the Hunter New England healthcare district.
She is also Head of Clinical Co-ordination with CannaPacific,who are a Government Licenced Australian medical Cannabiscompany based in Newcastle and the Macleay Valley on themid-north coast of NSW. She has been actively involved inkey cannabis research, including as lead site investigator, forseveral clinical studies and is currently developing researchinitiatives involving groups such as the Universityof Melbourne.
Erica also provides specialist palliative care to patients atLake Macquarie and Warners Bay Private Hospitals.
