COVID-19 was first identified in late-2019 as a cluster of pneumonia cases caused by a new coronavirus. Doctors have since learned that it is a novel infectious disease, one that especially reaches into the respiratory tract, including the lungs. COVID-19 can cause a range of breathing problems, from mild to critical.
